Let the sewing begin!

On my way home from the church, I stop by the quilt shop and bought fabrics. Oh how i love fabrics! They look so pretty stacked up like that.

While I design a quilt, I don't think too much about how I'm going to sew the design because I know one way or another, I'll be able to sew it. One thing I kept in mind while designing this quilt was the size. It will be 4' x 6'. That for me is pretty big so the design is divided in three sections that I can build separately and then join, making it easier to sew. Then I sit down at the computer and start dividing the design in sewable sections. The seams that are straight are going to be pieced together in the regular way. The curves will be appliquéd which means putting one piece of fabric, right side up, and sewn on top of the background fabric. The musical notes and letters will be appliquéd.

After the pattern is ready, I got it printed full size. It took a little hunting around to find a printer that would print something this large on regular paper but I found that my friend Hillary at That's Sew Hillary prints patterns and she did a great job. Now I know where to go! After I got the printout was when I realized how big this is going to be 😱 but I CAN DO THIS! 🤞

It's wider than my dinning room table!

Now little by little, piece by piece I'm going to put this together.
